We are looking for an experience Account & Business Development Manager that is organised and has impeccable attention to detail. Planning is your forte, you are always ahead of the game and make things run smoothly, liaising with everyone involved. You have excellent client liaison skills and can manage a team effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and with exceptional service.

You will enjoy learning new skills, researching opportunities and, working alongside the Senior Management Team, you will prepare and follow a business development strategy for the Company. You will ideally have five years’ experience working in the museum, leisure or education sector and have a great understanding of what it takes to work in a fast-paced environment where a desire to understand the subject matter and be passionately creative, is essential.

This is a full time, permanent role. Extensive travel, possibly overseas, is anticipated for this role to be successful.

Your key responsibilities will include (including but not limited to):

Account Management

  • Project management – managing daily / weekly meetings for your assigned projects /accounts and ensuring all teams and projects are up to date and on track
  • Designing and implementing processes to streamline project management and team-working
  • Ensuring that the project brief and strategy are adhered to, throughout the project
  • Working closely with the Production Studio Manager to book jobs for your projects
  • Fully understanding and interpreting the client’s business objectives, ensuring these are kept in mind through the entire process
  • Being the primary point of contact for clients/accounts and stakeholders to which you are assigned, developing a strong working relationship with each
  • Keep both external clients and internal stakeholders updated on progress through regular status reports
  • Manage all client project budgets
  • Organise all schedules for project work
  • Help evaluate client projects and gain feedback from the client to inform future processes


  • Prepare creative proposals for the live and digital project opportunities across the Company
  • Write copy for a range of projects
  • Book sub-contractors and creatives, as required, for projects you are managing
  • Preparation of Operating Manuals
  • Attendance at installation and delivery of client staff training as required

Business Development

  • Develop, alongside the Head of Development, a BD strategy for the Company
  • Seek appropriate tenders the Company should bid for and present for consideration to the Senior Management Team
  • Prepare tenders, quotes and proposals with the support of the wider team as appropriate
  • Prepare presentations and pitches
  • Follow up on all enquiries with a view to converting enquiries into sales
  • Look for new business opportunities through appropriate networking, cold calling, and exhibition/conference attendance
  • Develop an online profile that promotes the Company as the expert in its field
  • Liaise with the marketing department to ensure BD aims and objectives are met and ensure that all marketing and PR opportunities that support those aims are taken advantage of
  • Research and prepare proposals for the Senior Management Team that highlight potential new opportunities for the Company
  • Research and develop an in-depth understanding of the Company’s competitors seeking to ensure we’re ahead of the curve

You will need to have

  • A solid understanding of public and private sector procurement
  • A proven track record of delivering projects on time and to budget
  • Confidence in working with senior decision makers
  • Excellent communication skills including confidence networking and building new relationships
  • A proven track record preparing strategies for business development, looking for new opportunities and converting leads into sales
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Confidence in preparing tenders, quotes and proposals
  • Confidence presenting and pitching for new work
